October 5th - Three months old!

It's hard to believe she is already three months old!  Then again, I can barely remember what life was like without her.

Ami and Cypher, just hangin' out.

Naming Ami - A trip to Southern California

We went down to Southern California at the beginning of September to introduce Amira to all the friends and family down there.  We had a wonderful naming ceremony at my parents' house.  Rabbi Haim, who married us, blessed out little girl.  My mother sang a song, and Todd Mills read a poem.

Here is the meaning of her name:

Amira May - "Ami" (ah-mee) for short.  Her great grandmother (Brian's grandmother) was named Mira.  "May" comes from both of Nick's grandmothers: Mary on his mother's side, and Barbara May on his father's.

In hebrew "Amira" means "princess"...and "treetop."

"Mir" is "peace AND "world" in russian.   мир во всем мире!

"Ami" is, of course, "friend" en francais!

Amira May is also a play on "mira me"..."look at me" in spanish.

We call her "little bug".
